LSD Staging System

The LSD Ladder Staging System - Complies with BS13374-A Temporary Edge Protection

The LSD Ladder Staging System is designed to provide a safe, secure high level work platform (up to 7.5 metres high). It complies with BS13374-A (Temporary Edge Protection) and will fit onto (and should only be used with) any BS EN131 trade quality ladder.
The equipment consists of a handed pair of support brackets that mount onto your ladder and are attached two rungs apart. Each support bracket has a telescopic strut, which enables the support arm to be made horizontal very quickly and locked into position.
There are four corner posts that are rapidly locked into place on the staging brackets using captive thumbscrews. The corner posts are fitted with U bolts and L bolts to accept the handrails and toe boards. Finally the Staging Board is mounted across the support brackets and locked into place using the captive L bolts.
The 4 metre and 5 metre boards need a Mid Board Post to support the hand rails.

Staging Boards, Posts and Handrails

LSD Staging Boards have a Safe Working Load of 270Kg in accordance with the requirements of BS2037, evenly distributed over their length and are of welded alunimium construction. They are finished with "Rhino-board" boards with non slip work surfaces and are produced in lengths of 2, 3, 4, and 5 metres. The 4 and 5 metre boards have sockets on each side two metres from one end to accept our Mid Board Post, which supports the handrails.

The Mid Board Post has U bolts and an L bolt to retain handrails and toe boards on Staging Boards of 4 and 5 metres in length. These support the handrails, which are of 2 or 3 metres in length. End rails are 750mm.

Staging boards over 3 metre in length from other manufacturers will need a Mid Board Post Holder which fits onto the board and has a socket at each end which accepts a mid board post for the handrails.
To comply with the requirements of the HSE and BSI you must use two handrails and two end rails and toe boards.

Our Staging Boards require the following handrails and end rails.
2 metre board needs 2 x 2m handrails plus 2 x 750mm end rails
3 metre board needs 2 x 3m handrails plus 2 x 750mm end rails
4 metre board needs 4 x 2m handrails plus 2 x 750mm end rails
5 metre board needs 2 x 2m and 2 x 3m handrails plus 2 x 7500mm end rails

Third Ladder Bracket

Our Third Ladder Bracket enables an unlimited length of staging to be erected. Positioned on a third, fourth, fifth etc ladder, a continuous run of staging can be assembled in a very short space of time. Which is particularly useful for work on soffits, fascias and guttering.
It consists of a twin arm staging bracket with telescopic adjustment, as on the staging brackets and 2 corner posts to accept handrails.
It has a Safe Working Load Rating of 270Kg, which will normally exceed the rating of the ladder. Therefore the loads on any two adjacent Staging Boards must not exceed 270Kg

Ankalad Ladder Stabiliser

Now in its fourteenth year, the Ankalad Ladder Stabiliser will not only provide the level of stability required by the HSE (OC200/30) but will virtually eliminate ladder "bounce" and thus improves the stability of the Staging System.
It is easily fitted and easy to put into operation staying permanently on the ladder, folding flat for storage and transport. The adjustable legs cope with uneven ground.
The combined use of Staging System with Ankalad Ladder Stabilisers will satisfy the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive.

LSD Ladder Leveller
	Made of anodised aluminium and consisting of a pair of adjustable legs, which slide over the stiles of any BS EN131 ladder and lock on using captive bolts, the leveller has 100mm of adjustment on each side in increments of 3mm. It provides the required level of 16 degrees of adjustment determined by the HSE without resorting to packing pieces.

Roof Access System
	When used on two roof ladders, the LSD Staging System should be mounted on rungs four spaces apart, as shown in the illustration.

LSD Ladder Staging Kits
To make life easier for our customers, we offer for sale complete kits of parts to erect a 2, 3, 4, or 5 metre staging system. These kits include brackets, posts, handrails, staging boards and toeboards for the leading edge. It is recommended that the ANKALAD Ladder Stabiliser is used with all Staging Systems and they are available at an additional cost.
